Purple-faced langur in Sri Lanka
the actual bunky monkey ~ near home, Galle Province
a quick story

Why Bunky Monkey?

It's not a marketing word. It's what we call the langurs out the back of the house.

The purple-faced langur is endemic to Sri Lanka — you won't find it anywhere else in the world. It lives in the canopy near my home and most tourists never see one, because the langur stays deep in the forest, away from the highways.

The same is true of the places I take people. The Sri Lanka you find when you go past the obvious stops is a different country.
