Ceylon Bunky Monkey Travel Co is a private, on-demand tour guide service in Sri Lanka run by Kanishka Hannadi — based in Galle, operating island-wide, maximum 3 people per group. No fixed packages. Named after the purple-faced langur monkeys near his home. — the short version

How does the tour work? Do you have fixed packages?

No fixed packages. I'm an on-demand guided driver — you tell me where you want to go and I take you there. Day rate per group, maximum 3 people. We work out the route and price on WhatsApp before you arrive.

How many people can join a tour?

Maximum 3 people per group. That's a hard limit — it means I can actually focus on your group rather than managing a crowd.

How much does a day tour cost?

Pricing isn't published on the site — it depends on where you're going, how many people, and how many days. WhatsApp me with what you're planning and I'll give you a straight answer.

Which parts of Sri Lanka do you cover?

Island-wide. I'm based in Galle on the south coast and that's where most of my trips go — Hikkaduwa, Ella, Udawalawe, Hiriketiya, Ahangama, Kandy. I also do the east coast including Arugam Bay, but that's seasonal (May–October when the east coast weather is good).

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes — WhatsApp me before you arrive, especially in peak season (December–March on the south coast, June–September in Arugam Bay). Last-minute is sometimes possible but the further ahead you plan, the better.

What is the best time to visit Sri Lanka?

It depends where you're going. The south and west coasts are at their best from October to April. The east coast (Arugam Bay) runs May to October. The hill country (Ella, Kandy) is good year-round but January–April is the driest. Sri Lanka is big enough that there's usually good weather somewhere — WhatsApp me your dates and I'll tell you what makes sense.

What language do you guide in?

I guide in English and Sinhala. I have some Tamil, and I'm working on my Russian — there are more Russian travellers coming to Sri Lanka every year.

Can I see elephants?

Sri Lanka has several parks worth considering. Udawalawe has the highest density of resident elephants and the most reliable sightings. Yala is worth it for leopards as well as elephants. Minneriya is good if you're already in the cultural triangle — the elephant gathering there from June to October can be spectacular. Tell me where you're based and what else is on your itinerary and I'll tell you which one makes sense.

Is this suitable for families with children?

Yes. I adapt the day around whoever is in the group — children included. Tell me their ages when we're planning and I'll suggest the right pace and the right stops. Most destinations work well for families: the south coast beaches, Galle Fort, wildlife parks where sightings tend to be close rather than a quick glimpse through trees.

Can you do a full island tour of Sri Lanka?

Yes. A full circuit — south coast, hill country, cultural triangle, east coast — is something I do. Pricing covers my time, the vehicle, and my accommodation costs on the road. WhatsApp me your dates, where you want to go, and how long you have, and I'll put together a realistic plan.

What is the purple-faced langur? Why is your business named after it?

"Bunky Monkey" is the family nickname for the purple-faced langurs that live near my home. It's a monkey endemic to Sri Lanka — you won't find it anywhere else. It's shy, it lives in the forest canopy, and most tourists never see one. The name is a reminder of what this is: local knowledge, not a travel brochure.
